The only thing that typically delays the timeline is waiting on a third party to update DNS — for example, if your domain is managed by a web designer or hosting company who takes a day or two to respond. Once those changes are in place, it moves quickly.
What happens after DNS is updated
DNS changes can take up to a few hours to propagate across the internet, though it's often much faster. Once they've taken effect, your new email address is live.
We then provide you with simple steps for adding the email to your devices — your phone, laptop, or tablet. Most people have it set up and working within minutes.
Can I keep my old emails?
Yes. Your existing inbox — whether it's Gmail or something else — stays intact. We can also walk you through how to archive or export your old emails if you want to keep a record. Your new inbox starts fresh, but nothing is lost.
