Merthyr Tydfil has always had things going on — markets, events, community activities, live music, family days. The problem was a lack of a central, reliable place to find them. Information was scattered across Facebook groups, notice boards, and individual venues, with no single destination for residents to check what was happening.
What's On Merthyr Tydfil set out to fix that. The idea was simple: a clean, easy-to-use website that collects everything going on in the town in one place, keeps residents informed, and helps local events and businesses get the visibility they deserve.
They came to NC Digital to bring it to life.
The Brief
A community events platform for Merthyr Tydfil — designed for residents, not just event organisers. It needed to be easy to navigate, quick to browse, and clear enough that anyone from a teenager looking for something to do to an older resident checking local activities could use it without confusion.
Visually, it needed to feel local and welcoming — connected to Merthyr, not generic.
What We Built
A clean, well-structured community website showcasing local events, activities, and things to do across Merthyr Tydfil. The design is approachable and easy to navigate, with events clearly categorised and presented in a format that makes browsing natural.
As part of the project, NC Digital also created the logo design and brand identity for What's On Merthyr Tydfil — a recognisable mark that carries across the website, social media, and any printed materials the platform uses. Getting the brand right from the start meant the platform had a consistent, professional identity to grow into.
The site is fully managed by NC Digital, with hosting and email included — so the team behind What's On Merthyr Tydfil can focus entirely on the content and community, without worrying about the technical side.
The Result
What's On Merthyr Tydfil is now a growing presence for the local community — a centralised hub for residents to discover events, activities, and things to do in the town. As the platform grows and more events are added, its usefulness to the community increases alongside it.
It's a project we're proud of — not just as a web build, but as something that genuinely serves the place we're based in.
