76% More Clicks and 50 Enquiries in 3 Months: How We Helped IR Energy Grow Online

Energy companies occupy an interesting position in local search. The services they offer — solar panels, battery storage, heat pumps, EV chargers — are high value, increasingly in demand, and regularly searched by homeowners across South Wales. The challenge is standing out in a growing market where larger national brands have significant online presence.

IR Energy had a website. They just weren't getting much from it. Unhappy with the results their previous agency was delivering, they came to NC Digital looking for a fresh approach. Before working with us, they were averaging just two to three quote request forms per month.

The Brief

IR Energy needed two things: a homepage that properly reflected their expertise and built trust with potential customers, and enough visibility in Google to generate a consistent flow of enquiries. The existing site wasn't doing either job well.

The Homepage Redesign

We redesigned IR Energy's homepage to do what a homepage should: immediately communicate who they are, what they do, and why a visitor should trust them. Clear service areas, credibility signals, and a direct path to contact — built for conversion, not just aesthetics.

The redesign also addressed the technical foundation. Fast load times, mobile-first design, and a structure that Google could crawl and understand properly from the start.

The SEO Campaign

Alongside the redesign, we ran a three-month local SEO campaign targeting high-intent search terms across South Wales. The approach centred on building 20 dedicated SEO pages — pillar pages targeting "Renewable Energy Installers [location]" supported by individual service and location pages covering Merthyr Tydfil, Cardiff, and the surrounding region.

Each page was built to target a specific, realistic search. Rather than competing for broad national terms, we focused on the searches that IR Energy's actual customers were making in their service area.

The Results

Three months in, the numbers were clear:

  • +76% increase in clicks from Google Search
  • +164% increase in search impressions
  • 50 tracked enquiries generated — form submissions, phone clicks, and email interactions

That's a move from two to three enquiries per month to fifty tracked enquiry actions in a single quarter — driven entirely by organic search, with no paid advertising involved.
